Speaking to a gathering of
national leaders of the PSUV on May 30, President Chavez explained that he was
reading a book by Alan Woods, Bolshevism - the road to revolution, and
raised a copy for everyone to see. He referred to Alan as a friend and a
British Marxist theoretician. He then quoted a couple of passages from the book
on the role of the revolutionary party.

The new book by Alan Woods, Reformism or Revolution (reformism-or-revolution-out-now.htm), has
been reviewed and advertised on the Iranian language website Militant -
Journal of Youth Movement in Iran.

While at the Madrid
Book Fair to launch his latest book, Reformism or Revolution Alan Woods was
interviewed by the comrades of El Militante and explained that, The Venezuelan
Revolution (...) is not yet finished and cannot be finished unless the landlords
and capitalists are expropriated and the workers take power into their own
hands.

On Wednesday around 100 people gathered
in Bolívar Hall in London to attend what was a very successful
launch of the English language edition of Alan Woods' latest book,
Reformism or Revolution - A Reply to Heinz Dieterich. The
debate revealed that as capitalism world enters into a deep crisis,
the ideas of genuine socialism are alive and well. Now is the time to
spread the ideas of revolutionary socialism. (Including the audio file of Alan Woods' speech).

The launch of the book Reformism or
Revolution, Marxism and Socialism of the 21st Centuy (a reply to
Heinz Dieterich) took place on June 21, at the Art
Gallery of the Regional Legislature of
Anzoategui, in Barcelona,
in the presence of 90 workers, youth and community leaders. Alan Woods
expressed concern that the delay in the revolution was already producing signs
of apathy and disillusionment in the Bolivarian rank and file.

Some 200 oil workers from PDVSA listened attentively to Alan Woods
launching his book Reformism or Revolution in a meeting which took place
in the PDVSA headquarters in Monagas. As Alan said, The most dangerous enemy
of the revolution is within: the reformist Fifth Column.

On Monday over one
hundred people crowded into the CAUM Centre in Madrid to hear Alan give a
speech launching his latest book, which is an in-depth reply to the reformist
ideas of Heinz Dieterich, who has been providing a theoretical back-up to the
bureaucracy within the Bolivarian movement which is attempting to slow down the
pace of the revolution. If listened to, these reformist ideas would lead to the
derailing of the revolution.

On Thursday
June 19, another meeting was held as part of Alan Woods' visit to Monagas. In
the beautiful building of the Bolivarian
University in Maturín,
Alan Woods held the third launch meeting of his book Reformism or Revolution. Marxism and Socialism of the 21st
Century (a reply to Heinz Dieterich) with about 200 students and lecturers
attending.
